APJFES: Asia-Pacific Journal of Futures in Education and Society is an online peer-reviewed journal that publishes two times a year in April and November.
Aims & Scope
Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, under the guidance of the Research and Enterprise Office and Centre for Future Learning, School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and School of Education of Taylor’s University is publishing a bi-annual, peer reviewed, multi-disciplinary journal.
The aim of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Futures in Education and Society (APJFES) is to promote and enhance futures-oriented research development in the field of education and social sciences. The journal seeks to provide an international platform for social scientists, subject matter experts and postgraduate students to debate and disseminate research findings, facilitate discussion for new research ideas, methodologies and technological advancements, and highlight best theories, research frameworks and supreme practices for academics, management practitioners and policy makers. The articles published in the journal will cover a multi-disciplinary approach to study anthropology, economics, education, history, linguistics, communication, political science, psychology, and sociology. Papers dealing with theoretical, conceptual, and empirical aspects of the subject matter will be considered for publication.

Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
To maintain the highest quality and integrity of scholarship, APJFES adheres strictly to the principles of publication ethics. All manuscripts must comply with these ethical standards. Any paper found to violate them, even post-publication, may be retracted.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. The journal may use plagiarism detection software and reserves the right to investigate suspected cases of plagiarism, data falsification or fabrication (including manipulated data, tables, or images), and unethical use of human or animal subjects.
Authors' Responsibilities
APJFES is a peer-reviewed international journal committed to ethical publication practices.
Authors must:
● Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
● Appropriately cite and reference all work or words of other authors, sources, or online content.
● Ensure the accuracy of their research and be prepared to provide raw data upon request.
● Disclose any potential conflicts of interest or financial support.
● Arrange for proper language editing prior to submission.
● Cooperate with the journal if significant errors or inaccuracies are found post-publication.
● Agree to the journal’s license and copyright transfer terms upon acceptance.
Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and uncredited use of AI-generated content are considered serious ethical violations.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts are subject to double-blind review by at least two qualified experts. Reviews are generally completed within 45 days (1.5 months). Reminders will be issued to ensure timely responses.
Editors are responsible for:
● Ensuring unbiased, confidential, and fair review processes.
● Avoiding any potential conflict of interest.
● Upholding editorial independence and transparency.
● Coordinating with reviewers and authors professionally.
Reviewers must:
● Evaluate manuscripts objectively without bias toward author background or identity.
● Maintain confidentiality and avoid sharing manuscript content.
● Declare any conflicts of interest or ethical concerns.
● Decline review if unqualified or unable to meet the deadline.
Copyright Policy:
Upon acceptance, authors will be required to transfer copyright to APJFES to ensure wide dissemination and proper licensing. If any content from previously published or copyrighted work is used, it is the author’s responsibility to obtain written permission and clearly cite the source.
Ethical Use of AI Tools
Authors must disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or technologies (e.g., for writing, data analysis, image generation, or translation) during the research and manuscript preparation process. Acceptable AI use must be limited to non-creative tasks (e.g., grammar correction or formatting) and should not substitute for original scholarly contributions.
Misleading use of AI, such as undisclosed AI-authored text or manipulated AI-generated data/images, will be treated as unethical conduct. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their submissions, including any parts influenced by AI tools.
Call for Papers

The journal provides an international platform for social scientists, subject matter experts and postgraduate students to debate and disseminate research findings, facilitate discussion for new research ideas, methodologies and technological advancements, and highlight best theories, research frameworks and supreme practices for academics, management practitioners and policy makers.
The articles published in the journal cover a multi-disciplinary approach to study anthropology, economics, education, history, linguistics, communication, political science, psychology, and sociology. Papers dealing with theoretical, conceptual, and empirical aspects of the subject matter will be considered for publication.
Manuscript for Submission
Manuscripts submitted to APJFES should be original contributions and should not have been previously published nor under consideration for publication elsewhere. Individual and multiple authors are welcome to contribute.
All manuscripts are refereed through a blind review process by at least two academic experts in the particular field of the submitted paper(s) prior to acceptance. The entire review process averages 2-3 months.
Manuscripts must be written in English.
The abstract should summarize the key points of the paper without exceeding 300 words and, with a maximum of 6 keywords that define the subject matter.
Research articles should normally not exceed 7,000 words, research notes should not exceed 3,000 words and book reviews should not exceed 2,000 words.
Research news (are welcome submission) should feature individuals who make the news with breakthrough research, are/have been involved in outstanding scientific endeavors or conferred with internally recognized awards. Categories of news are: newsmakers, science events, patents from research, commercial products from research and scientific conferences/workshops/symposia (no more than 750 words, and 1 snapshot).
All contributions should follow the format and style described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition).
All manuscripts should be typed in MS WORD format, double-spaced with one-inch margins and using 12-point Times New Roman font (exception of tables 10-point Times New Roman).
Manuscripts should include the following major sections: title page, abstract, main body and references. The title page is the first page and should contain the title of the paper, name of author(s) or authors’ names, institutional affiliation, present position and complete address (including telephone/fax and e-mail).
The main body or text should be divided into headings and subheadings. Main headings should be centered on the page and subheadings placed at the left margin.
All tables and figures should be prepared on separate pages and grouped together at the end of the manuscript, and the place where they are to be included must be clearly marked in the text (e.g. Insert Figure 1 here). Tables and figures (300dpi) should be clearly labeled, in the format and style described in APA (7th edition) and suitable for direct reproduction.
References should follow the format and style described in APA (7th edition).Author(s) name should not appear anywhere except on the cover page of only main copy of the manuscript (to preserve anonymity during the blind review process).
The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscripts.
