Abstract: This descriptive qualitative research was conducted to probe the impact of the programs implemented by the Lyceum of the Philippines University- Manila campus, College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (LPU-CITHM) since 2010 for the Dumagats of Masla, General Nakar, Quezon. As the ultimate beneficiary of the LPU-CITHM programs, this community is the rightful stakeholder to gauge the relevance and quality of training sessions, effectiveness of the short- and long-term goals of the programs as well as provide suggestions and recommendations for the future direction, positive impacts and related challenges regarding their partnership with LPU-CITHM. The informants’ narratives about the LPU-CITHM programs/training sessions can be summed up as effective, timely, and able to improve their living conditions. They conveyed their suggestions and recommendations; one of which, is that LPU-CITHM must continue guiding them until such a time that they can stand on their own feet. Thus, there is a need to conduct further studies to formulate appropriate approaches that would most benefit them as a community. It is vital that the local community should be ready, and protection of the natural environment must be established first before further tourism development takes place.
