Abstract:
This study investigates the causal relationship between tourism development and economic growth in China, Japan, and South Korea; a topic that has not been extensively explored in the tourism literature. Although the contribution of tourism to the economy is generally low in these countries due to their export-oriented economies of industrial goods, the results of this study demonstrate that tourism development can stimulate economic growth in the long run.
