Abstract:
A conceptual paper is essential as it is a potent tool for developing theory. However, researchers grapple to plan and write non-empirical articles due to the absence of well-recognised models to direct their creation. Thus, this study reviews the literature through a meta-synthesis method on the 5G and OTT concepts in radio broadcasting. Access to broadcast infrastructure is vital for every radio service. However, the switchover from conventional to digital, as envisaged by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and International Telecommunication Union, presents both challenges and opportunities for such stations. The saturation of FM frequency shows the urgency to make technological changes in the radio industry. This meta-analysis combined and summarised previous research findings to generate causal conclusions regarding radio players’ preferences for using 5G or OTT and how and why these preferences have failed to prevail. We identified 25 relevant articles from an initial pool of 5,080 articles through a systematic search.
